Eurovision: Israel Nil Points
Shame really, what could have been a wonderful Israeli Arab-Jewish musical cooperation should now probably end before it properly began, because of the ridiculous (and rather unrepentant) behaviour of the otherwise quite progressive Israeli side of the duo, Noa.
The incriminating letter is found here.

I don't see what's so horrible about her original letter. She denounces extremism and hopes for there to be peace. Her latest post is too defensive and wouldn't be something I'd write, but I don't find it repugnant, either.
Ahinoam Nini (Noa) is a peace activist, just not a member of the bleeding heart crowd. So her views don't exactly fall in line with yours - that's a reason to boycott her?
I think she seems to be struggling with her opinions.
Boycott arms shipments, not folksingers.
I'm not boycotting her, Emm.
But boycotts can extend to just about anything, Ren.
"I'm not boycotting her, Emm."
So what do you mean when you say that this "should now probably end before it properly began"?
It's not me that will end it, I just can't see how they can go on together. Could be wrong on that...
If Mira Awad hasn't dropped out of this yet, I don't see why she would now. The pre-Eurovision show was just last week (the duo performed a few different songs and the audience chose which one will be sent to the Eurovision. How boring is that - a contest between songs and not between performers. But I digress). Awad knows about Noa's statements and has said she doesn't think it is a reason to end the partnership.
Fair enough. Not that important though. Just don't be surprised that Europe's welcome to the Israeli effort may be even less lukewarm than usual.
I can hear Mad Mel Phlips screeching Aantiii-Se-e-e-mi-tism!!! pre-emptively already...
Much more important: US seems to be changing course, faster than anticipated (see above).
