This is a story that sounds too fantastical to be true and yet, after careful verification, appears to be just that: too true to be believed at face value. Richard Silverstein reports it well and there's nothing to add to it from my side. Richard's report contains multiple links and some astonishing graphics (that illustrate the banality of cruelty all over again) and to try and reproduce it here would do it a gross injustice.
