Noose: an American Nightmare

With the fallout from Jena still settling, it's unlikely we'll know the full truth of the story anytime soon, if ever. Perhaps the best we can do right now is at least remember (and never forget) what the racial and historical implications of a symbol like the hanging noose are. Like all old hatreds, racism will never completely recede and vigilance against a resurgence is as much needed today as it will be tomorrow.
