The exercise of power is determined by thousands of interactions between the world of the powerful and that of the powerless, all the more so because these worlds are never divided by a sharp line: everyone has a small part of himself in both - Vaclav Havel

I'm glad there is nothing dramatic to show on the Israeli side. I'm glad there aren't many dead and injured Israelis - the result of the Home Front Command's instructions to the population about how to protect themselves. Hamas would like there to be as many Israelis dead as possible. Its ineptitude doesn't make it any less ruthless than if it successfully killed scores of civilians.
The Qassams' effect is more psychological than physical. People are afraid to leave their houses, are afraid whenever their children are not with them. The people within rocket range - now nearly one million people - cannot lead normal lives.
Yes, there are way too many civilian casualties on the Palestinian side (even one is too many). The IDF isn't as careful as it should be, but Hamas has just as much responsibility for the civilian death toll.
By the way, you might just agree with my latest post (all but the last paragraph).
The drawback for Israel is that all this looks terrible on TV, Hasbara or not.
