Scousers Don't Want Rice...

Condi's visit to Liverpool, under the auspices of her political equivalent Jack Straw, was supposed to be a mirror image of the couple's jubilant visit to Alabama but that turned out to be a little bit of a miscalculation. To be fair, I hadn't quite expected the level of protest we've seen myself.

If Rice wasn't perhaps quite aware of the degree to which many Britons oppose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan then she is now.

The protesters can also find solace in the fact that Rice saw an occasion to admit fault:
But Rice also used the open dissent as an occasion to admit fault. Speaking to an audience of intellectuals and foreign policy specialists today, she made the unusual admission that "I know we've made tactical errors — thousands of them, I'm sure. This could have gone that way or that could have gone that way," she remarked in an unusually candid aside. "I've said many, many times I am quite certain that there are going to be dissertations written about the mistakes of the Bush Administration and I will probably even oversee some of them when I go back to Stanford."

A picture speaks a thousand words and over at BlairWatch they have tonnes of them, as well as links on US press coverage, here.

Everyone should stop moaning about Rice and scouse. I always say 'What you don't like, don't eat. Just push it to the side of the plate'.
